Dogs as Fonts

A Viennese graphic design studio, grafisches büro, created a series of images comparing which dogs could be related to which fonts. I love dogs and typeface. Therefore, this is terrific!  What font do you think your dogs are?

Learn something new everyday

I first saw this VDO on NBC Today Show yesterday and I have to share it with all of you. Pacino is trying to learn the art of catching. He almost got it! Almost.....

Then I saw this one earlier this morning. Simon, a good big brother, helped teaching Daisy to overcome her fear of going down the stairs.

After watching these VDO, how can you not love dogs? They are so adorable!!!

Good deeds: The Yellow Dog Project

The Yellow Dog Project is a brilliant campaign to bring awareness to the general public about dogs who need a bit of privacy while in training, being sick, recovering from surgery or who may be not-so-social dog. Some dog, like some people, want to be left alone. It is a growing movement around the world just simply puts yellow ribbons on collar or leash to let others know that the pooch needs some space and appreciates a bit of privacy.

Of course, this brilliant idea works only if people know about it. Our puppies rely on us to help them. You can help by simply starting spreading the word! Sharing this post with your friends, tell other pet owners. You also can visit The Yellow Dog Project website here.

Meet Our Officers

CMO: Chief Munching Officer | Ms. Houby

Our sweet girl Ms. Houby is a Carolina (original American prairie dog) who came to us from a shelter in 2001 as a sprightly 1 year old. Houby is a curious free spirit and very aware of her surroundings, and she loves exploring. She is a “leaner” who is very sweet with people, especially infants and other children. Yet, Houby is very choosy when it comes to her 4-legged playmates.  Because of a notoriously delicate tummy, Houby has a low tolerance for many store-bought treats; and this was our initial inspiration to create homemade treats for dogs!

CFO: Chief Furry Officer | Mr. Junka

Meet Mr. Junka, a 7 year old cairn terrier.  Despite Junka’s name, he is a dapper dog of elegance who loves the finer things in life. A diminutive pooch whose likes include being out on the office terrace watching the world go by, and romping in fresh, white, fluffy snow. Junka is full experienced in good doggie cuisine.

A true terrier to the core, his strong mind and particularity about food taste and quality show through in his willingness to speak his mind by leaving the “disapproval food” around his bowl. With Junka on our team, you can be assured that we use the finest natural ingredients possible for every yummy “Yappy Bones dog treat.”

Every “Yappy Bones dog treat” has been tasted-tested, quality assured and has the hard-to-get Junka & Houby Stamp of Approval!

Bone appetites, Woof Woof!

Welcome to Yappy Bones

Hello there! Welcome to Yappy Bones™ ! This is a blog celebrating our furry four-legged friends in our lives.

I grew up in a home full of dogs.  At one point, we had 10 of these lovely pooches in our house, and we loved it! The love of dogs is in my blood. It runs in the family. I love them, love them so much, especially the shaggy ones.

In 2005, my best friend and I decided to be pet parents to Junka, a cute Cairn terrier, He is absolutely the love of my life. I’m totally obsessed with him. I want him to be have the best healthy life possibly provide to him. So, I started observing, reading, and collecting a ridiculous amount of tips, thoughts and information about dogs, dog-related products, and pet-parents. Junka is my heart, and I want him to be with me as long as possible. That’s why I started making home-cooked meals just for him, which I still do…

In 2008, my family grew when I began to co-parent 2 beautiful pups, Houby & Casey. Sadly, Casey passed away last year. He was such a lovely & wonderful boy, and we miss him a lot. Because of a notoriously delicate tummy, Houby has a low tolerance for many store-brought treats. This was my initial inspiration to create homemade treats for dogs. I bake for our dogs with only the finest fresh ingredients and lots of love.

This past February, I made the decision to combine my 10+ years of experience in the restaurant business with my love of baking for four-legged friends…and Yappy Bones™! was born.

This blog is my playground. The place I can share with you my thoughts, information, new products, and anything else dog-related, to make our lives better & our puppies happier.

Come on by, if you have the love for dogs whether you have one or not. Let’s hang out, and I invite you to share your thoughts, stories, comments, tips and tricks…
